Life is a Trifle....

My British roots are showing. I love Trifle. I think more than anything it has to do with many happy childhood memories and watching my Mother make Trifle for special occasions such as Christmas, Easter and milestone birthdays. Essentially Trifle is very easy to make and is just pure and simple comfort dessert.

The Libations of my Life

Robert Louis Stevenson once said that "Wine is bottled poetry." So I thought it would be a fitting tribute to use the sidebar of CoopSpeak Eats to highlight the different and wonderful libations, cocktails and beverages of my adventures and travels.

I've never been a big fan of the hops but I loved this Lug Tread from this Ottawa craft beer maker.

How Sweet it Is...

I'm not a big hound for sweet drinks & liquers but I have to say this Camomilla Grappa and this lovely Southbrook Cassis have been great dessert additions.

Just discovered Creekside Wines.

What a pleasant surprise. I could easily be converted to a Creek Freak!

Big Barolo Love!

I loved this very special 2001 Pio Cesare Barolo. I loved every minute of sharing it with friends.

This Catena Malbec is a winner!

A decent price point on a hearty Malbec with great legs.

Introducing a limited edition wine from Nova Scotia

I was absolutely stunned at the quality and the body of this wine that came from Nova Scotia. It had the most unusual colour to the wine. So delicious and perfect for the Seafood Boil we served it with.

Lovely Lailey

Lailey Winery has quickly become one of my most favorite wine producers out of the bench. If you haven't tried them then do yourself a favour and give 'er a go!

A Wickedly good Cali Cabernet

For a while the Cali Cabs were just ridiculously overpriced but at around $22 a bottle we loved this Cab Sauv. so much we buy it by the caseload.

This tequila based cream liqueur is pronounced "Ca-hooooo-eh" Perfect for a little coffee in your cup.
